Here at WCS, we're not just staff, we're a family. We may come in a small box, but we think outside of it, coming together to build relationships and empower each of our students through innovation and communication.

Whitesville, New York. Whitesville is settled on the border of New York and Pennsylvania in a quiet, rural area. The school is the heart of the town, providing the kids and community with activities and resources that are vital to the growth and well-being of our residents. Being a Whitesville Blue Jay means having integrity, building relationships, and working as a team.

Inside the Nest.

The Blue Jay Way. Blue Jays live in small groups and travel as a whole, building family values, and constantly communicating. Migration patterns are random, with some leaving the nest and others choosing to stay.

The same goes for our Blue Jay family! We work as a team, filling gaps and applying our many talents wherever we can, exposing our students to cultures and experiences that might not otherwise be possible. Some of our students go off into the world and explore new territory, while others stay and plant their seeds here in Whitesville. What we bring to the table, as teachers, can be what takes our students' learning to the next level no matter where they're at and what they become.

Our staff offers exciting extracurricular activities from clubs, to music lessons, and exciting new trips or guest speakers so that our students can experience big things in a small town.

Outside the Nest.

Surrounding Whitesville. WCS neighbors several local colleges and universities, including SUNY College Tech at Alfred-Wellsville, Alfred State College, Alfred University, and St. Bonaventure University and Houghton College. We also border several community colleges in the region, such as Jamestown Community College and Corning Community College.

Our area's forests and waterways are popular for hunting and fishing, touring state parks, such as Letchworth State Park and Stony Brook, and we are just a leap away from Watkins Glen State Park and Niagara Falls.

Locally, there are equally as many opportunities between ATV riding at Tall Pines ATV Park, hiking/walking trails on the WAG Trail, skiing at local resorts such as Swain Resort and Holiday Valley, and Funland Skating nights for all ages! Our local YMCAs also offer a great variety of options and activities for all ages. Within neighboring towns there's a Creative Arts Center, breweries and restaurants, and within 45 minutes you you'll be in Downtown Corning where you can explore the Corning Museum of Glass.
